Use Case
Right now all your images have different aspect ratios and sizes.
You want them to conform, but there are a few things:
- Your background is grey (not white), so adding white space is not ideal.
- You don't want to crop the image, because it seems to permanently change the image everywhere.
- What you really need is for the images on the collection page to conform to a 1:1 ratio, but to zoom with hover (or not), but to display full size on the product pages.
Solution
The image in the collection page is directly linked to the first image in the product page. Once you change one of them, the other will be affected.
You can make them square by adding the same color as background color because that is the background colour of your website.
Please note that I have checked “product cover only (first image of a product)”. This way you can only edit the first image of a product which is the one used on the collection page.
You can try to one collection only to see if you like this effect. If so you can do it with all products.
