What is this app?

If you want to collect email addresses by offering incentives (i.e., coupons) to your customers, this is the app you want.

The app doesn't send email to your customers. Since quite a few excellent 3rd party services (i.e., MailChimp) offer this feature, we have integrated our app with them. Integration with a service like MailChimp is a Premium feature. Then you can do all the marketing strategy with these collected emails in the MailChimp.

You can also export all collected email to a CSV file from our app, and then manually import into a service like MailChimp. This feature is free.

Where can I see all the collected emails?

You can click the "Email List" button at the top right corner. And then click the "Export to CSV" to get your collected emails.

 

 

Why customers still see the Email Collection Bar 1st message even after they submitted their emails?

Once a customer puts his email address on the Email Collection Bar, the bar won’t be shown to him again.
If a customer still sees it, it may be one of the reasons list below:
  • His email is NOT collected through the Email Collection Bar (e.g. submitted through your online form)
  • He is using a different browser or device to visit your store again

What features are offered in the premium plan (compare to the free plan)?

Compare to the Free plan, the following features are offered in the Premium plan.

With Premium version

  1. Real-Time Advanced Syncing, You can link and sync your Soundest, MailChimp, and Klaviyo accounts. The collected emails are automatically pushed the specific list/group of these accounts within 10mins after they are provided by website visitors.
  2. Visitor Source Targeting, You can created different bars for visitors come from different sources, such as Facebook ads, Twitter posts, Pinterest pins, etc. This provides a better segmentation of the collected emails, hence more accurate email retarget marketing.
  3. Performance Tracking, App tracks the number of emails collected by each bar, and presents in the table below. You can use the data for A/B testing, and optimize the bar to collect more emails.
  4. Bar background image, use a holiday themed bar background image to make your whole site more relevant to the shopping season.
  5. Upload your own background image, Put your own branding on the bar; Use product image on the bar. This opens up a lot of possibilities.

 

Multilingual messages for different customers

To show a message in your language, you can simply put the message in your language into the “Text” related fields. Our Geo Target feature will be very helpful if you would like to show the message only to the customers from the corresponding countries.

If you like showing bilingual messages, 2 active bars will do the work with different Geo Target settings.

Is there a way of loading the bar more rapidly?

The delay is because of the Shopify restriction. To achieve the best user experience, Shopify will always load your website first, and then the apps, hence the delay.

But there is one more thing we can try:

  1. Please go to the “FAQ” page by clicking on the “FAQ” button on the top right corner of the app.
  2. Find "Can Email Collection Bar display as soon as the website loads?”.
  3. Please follow the instruction and let us know if it works.

 

What is the recommend background image size?

The background image can be any format. We recommend using PNG or JPG as they are the most common image format.

The background image is not a single one big image. It is a small image that repeating itself horizontally and vertically.

If you are using the default settings, we recommend using an image with 45-90px height. Width is flexible. You can also use our holiday theme image background as an example. Our images dimension is 45 x 105px.

 

Can I get a bigger font size on the mobile devices?

On mobile browsers, the font size will be capped to achieve best display style.

To achieve this, you can create 2 bars (this is a Premium feature):

  • One targets the desktop devices
  • One targets the mobile devices

Then, the mobile one can use a larger font size.

 

How to remove the email addresses from the app?

We do not have an option for the shop owner to remove the email from the list at the moment. If you want, you could let us know the emails, and then we can remove it for you.

Also, our App does not send any emails itself. It can be configured to push the collected emails to email service providers such as MailChimp. These email service providers are the ones that send the emails. Therefore, even if the customers want to remove them from the list, you could remove them from the email service providers. Removing them from the list in our App would not stop them from receiving emails.

 

Why the page is showing "Requests to the server have been blocked by an extension"

Usually, an AdBlock browser extension blocks it by mistake.

Please try exporting it with a browser without the extension and let us know if it works.

 

Why does my MailChimp sync fail?

The reason varies. One possible reason is that the list selection is missing.

You can click the “Resync Mail List from MailChimp” button to get all the email list names you have with your MailChimp account. Then, select one as the destination list, and click Save. Our App should be able to push the emails to that list.
