The Free Shipping Bar is a very straightforward app. It is displaying your free shipping goal to your customers to increase your order total amount.

Why is the bar calculating the wrong number?
Usually, the gap happens when the currency in the Free Shipping Bar doesn’t match your Store Base Currency.
Please uninstall the app and re-install it again. The App will automatically adjust and match your Store Base Currency. No worries. All your settings will be kept as is.
Can I have multiple free shipping bars on my website?
If you want to have different bars for different countries, and/or on different pages, and/or during different time period, and/or for different customers, then yes. This is available in the premium plan.
We have a geo-targeting feature which could help you on this.
For example, you want to have 2 bars, one English and one French:
- create one bar with French message targeting France
- another bar with English Message targeting the rest of the world
You can event have different shipping goals for different countries. Here is a step-by-step guide.
Can I have more than one free shipping bars on the same page at the same time?
No, based on our research, having 2 free shipping offers on the same page would cause distraction to customers and impact the conversion rate. Hence, you can have one bar display on a page at any given time.
However, we support to have multiple bars to target different countries, and/or on different pages, and/or during different time periods, and/or for different customers.
How to create the free shipping rules?
- From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Shipping.
- Click Edit next to the zone where you want to offer free shipping.
- In the Price based rates section, click Add rate.
- In the Add price based rate dialog, enter a Name for the shipping rate, and then a minimum order price (should be same as the goal in FSB)
- Check Free shipping rate.
- When you're done, click Done.
Now you can create a bar by clicking the "Create New" button below the FAQ section.
What features are offered in the premium plan (compare to the free plan)?
With Free version, you could configure multiple bars, but only one could be active.
With Premium version
- Multiple active bars: you can offer free shipping at different prices depending on the countries and/or time period
- Auto-scheduling: you can configure multiple bars for the several months, then sit back and relax. The App automatically displays them based on the schedule.
- Auto-currency conversion: the bar can auto-detect visitors' local currencies, and convert goal and money amount on the bar with our hourly updated exchange rates.
- Performance tracking: App tracks the times of Free Shipping goal achievements, and presents in the table below. You could optimize the message, goal amount, and style of the bar based on this metric.
- Bar background image: use a holiday themed bar background image to make your whole site more relevant to the shopping season.
- Upload your own background image: Put your own branding on the bar; Use product image on the bar. This opens up a lot of possibilities.
What does stats/unique achieve mean?
The "unique achieve" under stats is tracked and used to measure the performance of each bar.
One goal achieve with bar display in each browsing session = 1 unique achieve
For example, When a visitor achieves the free shipping goal, and the free shipping bar displays for that. It is counted as 1 unique achieve. If the same visitor removes and adds items to meet the goal again, it does not count.
Can I use a comma separator in currency?
Unfortunately, the Free Shipping Bar currently doesn’t support the comma separator in currency.
Can I align the message to the left?
Unfortunately, the Free Shipping Bar currently doesn’t support the left aligned text.
Can I add new fonts for the bar?
We will add new fonts to our development pipeline. More new fonts will be released in our future update.
Multilingual messages for different customers
You can put messages in your language into the text-related fields.
In the Free Shipping Bar app, there are three text-related messages:
- Initial Message
- Progress Message
- Goal Achieved Message
Our Geo Target feature will be helpful if you would like to show the message only to the customers from the selected countries.
If you like showing bilingual messages, 2 active bars will do the work with different geotargeting settings. This feature is available in our Premium plan.

Does the bar display on the checkout page?
Unfortunately, the bar cannot be displayed on the checkout pages at this moment.
How to test if my Geo Targeting works?
Testing geotargeting requires the knowledge of how VPN and browsers work together. We strongly recommend asking your developer to test it for you. The best way testing it is asking a person to test from the targeted location.
Using a VPN to test the Geo Targeting is NOT always accurate. A lot of factors could affect the result, such as the browser cache and wrong IP address.
When you test it, please open this link https://whatismyipaddress.com/ on the same browser and the same tab to verify your IP.
If your IP is correct and the geo-targeted message still doesn't show, please send a screenshot and the IP shown on the website (https://whatismyipaddress.com/) to us. Therefore, we could further investigate the reason it doesn’t work during your test.
What are the prices Free Shipping Bar convert?
The auto currency converter only converts the amount on the bar, not the prices on your website. It is different from some other currency Apps you installed, and can not replace it.
Could the currency symbol stays behind the numbers?
The Free Shipping Bar app does not support to place the symbol behind the numbers at the moment.
Are there things need to be done when transferring my store ownership?
Based on the way our Apps are developed, there is not much to do to transfer the ownership. When you sell the store, the payment info of the Shopify store should be updated to the new owner. If so, the App billing will be automatically transferred to the new payment as well.
Regarding the contact info, you could let us know the owner’s name and email (shop contact email), then we could update our record. After that, everything should be set.
How to edit a free shipping bar
You can always update the bar by clicking the “Edit” button. Then scroll down, you will see more options.
How to remove a free shipping bar
By clicking the “Deactivate” button, the bar will be removed.
Is there a way of loading the bar more rapidly?
The delay is because of the Shopify restriction. To achieve the best user experience, Shopify will always load your website first, and then the apps, hence the delay. When it loads the apps, it will load them one by one based on their installation order. For example, if an app is the last one installed in your store, it will be the last one to load into the storefront.
But there is one more thing we can try:
- Please go to the “FAQ” page by clicking on the “FAQ” button on the top right corner of the app.
- Find "Can Free Shipping Bar display as soon as the website loads?”.
- Please follow the instruction and let us know if it works.
It will minimize the delay time. However, it won’t completely remove it because of the Shopify restriction.
How Seconds To Display Before Retraction work?
- If you put 5 in the field, the bar will be displayed for 5 seconds and then disappear.
- When a customer adds an item to the cart, the bar will display again for 5 seconds, and then disappear.
- The pattern will repeat whenever a customer updates the order amount.
Can I add a free giveaway as the goal for the Free Shipping Bar?
Shopify and our app do not support it out of the box at the moment. It cannot automatically add an item to the customer’s shopping cart. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Is there a way to use a bold font in the bar?
It is feasible by adding a HTML tag:
<span style="font-weight:bold;"> Your content here </span>
How to add emoji to the message?
You can simply copy and paste the emoji to the Free Shipping Bar message.
Can I have multiple bars running at the same time?
It depends.
One the same page, only one Free Shipping Bar is visible.
In 2 cases you would like to use the multiple bars:

Let's say you have created another 2 bars. The first bar is targeting the US, while the second bar is targeting the rest of the world. These 2 bars can run at the same time because they are targeting different countries. A customer can only see one bar on the same page.
However, the 2 bars currently running on your website have a conflict.
Two bars are targeting the same pages ("All Pages”) and the same countries ("All Countries”). A customer will only see the first one on the website. It is created earlier, so it has the priority over the second one.
What is the recommend background image size?
The background image can be any format. We recommend using PNG or JPG as they are the most common image format.
The background image is not a single one big image. It is a small image that repeating itself horizontally and vertically.
If you are using the default settings, we recommend using an image with 45-90px height. Width is flexible. You can also use our holiday theme image background as an example. Our images dimension is 45 x 105px.
Why doesn't the Free Shipping Bar work with my discount?
Some apps dynamically update the display order total on your website, but it doesn't update the total order amount on Shopify side. Shopify still calculates the order total based on original price instead of the discounted price. The Free Shipping Bar always gets the total order amount from Shopify. Hence the mismatch happens.
Unfortunately, this is out of our control. The Free Shipping Bar doesn't work with the dynamic display price. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Coupon code on checkout pages
The Free Shipping Bar always gets the total order amount from Shopify. If the coupon code was applied on the cart page, the free shipping bar would reflect the latest change. However, it is a bit different when it comes to the checkout page.Shopify does not allow the app access the checkout page for a security reason. The bar does not have access to the checkout page so that it cannot show anything. Therefore, if a customer applies a coupon code during the checkout process, the free shipping bar cannot display any message at this moment.
Why doesn't my shipping settings work? The customer cannot see the free shipping option.
Our App does not control the fulfillment method; it represents your free shipping offers on your Shopify online store.
As long as the customers spend more than the defined free shipping goal, our App will let them know that they are qualified for free shipping. However, regarding the specific shipping method, it depends on the settings under Shopify admin >> Settings >> Shipping.
You need someone who is professional in shipping settings to take a look.
Since this is a setting related to the Shopify, we recommend contacting the Shopify gurus. They are the best persons to help with this. They probably know something we don't.
Once they help you set up the free shipping in your Shopify Shipping Settings, you can then go ahead create a bar in the Free Shipping Bar app.
Can I get a bigger font size on the mobile devices?
On mobile browsers, the font size will be capped to achieve best display style.
To achieve this, you can create 2 bars (this is a Premium feature):
- One targets the desktop devices
- One targets the mobile devices
Then, the mobile one can use a larger font size.
Why the "Currency" configuration is disabled?
When "Auto Currency Convert" is selected, the "Currency" option will be disabled.
Let me be elaborate on this.
The "currency" option is for configuring the currency showing on your free shipping bar.
The app ignores the currency configuration when "Auto Currency Convert" is enabled. The currency on your free shipping bar will be auto updated based on the customers’ geolocation instead of the “Currency” configuration. The "USD" showing here is merely a placeholder.
How the FSB States work?
Our App tracks the number of free shipping goal achievements, but if the goal is 0, we do not track. Since if the goal is 0, then all order should have the free shipping offer.
How to update the font size?
You can update the font size by following the steps below:
- Click the "Edit" button
- Scroll down to the "Font Size" settings at the bottom of the app page
- Update the font size
- Click the "Save" button at the end of the app page

What if I don't want to show the customers how far away from the goal?
Our another app, Quick Announcement Bar (QAB), is a good solution for your use case. It is for displaying your exciting announcements (i.e., a simple free shipping message without showing the goal) in a bar to your website visitors.
You can use both Quick Announcement Bar and Free Shipping Bar on your website.

Is it possible to add Free Shipping in the selected countries only?
Yes. It is feasible with our geotargeting feature. This feature is available in our Premium plan.
Only customers from the selected countries can see the bar.

How to make my bar slimmer?
To make the bar slimmer, please try adjusting the “Font Size” and the “Bar Padding” options.
You can find the options by clicking the “Edit” button. Then scroll down, you will see the settings.

How to add a close button?
The Free Shipping Bar app has a feature to add the close button in the app. It is session-based. Once customers close it, they won’t see the bar during the same session. If they close the browser tab and revisit your website, the bar will show again.
